For those unfamiliar with larger fundraising events, the point is not only to raise money; it’s an opportunity for the community to get out for a good time, potentially win some prizes, and support an organization with a long history of helping Contra Costa seniors. 

What’s a better way to do that than a golf tournament?! This community-focused event promises a good time for everyone who wants to participate. Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa is making this as skill-inclusive as possible, so you don’t have to be a pro golfer. You can just come out, do your best, and win some cool prizes.

Although this is our inaugural event, planning it ourselves, this actually isn’t a new event! The San Joaquin Yacht Club in Bethel Island has been hosting this event for thirty-five years. It’s a beloved community event that’s being taken to the next level.

How to Join the Golf Tournament – Teams

Since our tournament is a foursome, team signups are required! The cost for a foursome is $600, which breaks out to be $150 per golfer. This is a steal for our venue! 

One person can register for your entire team, making this process as easy and smooth as possible.

Who the Money Supports

Funds raised from this event will go straight to buying meals for the seniors in Contra Costa and surrounding areas. 

Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa supports our community seniors by filling the gap between government funds and the community’s needs. We take the lead in making sure the community is healthy.

How to Join the Golf Tournament – Sponsorship Opportunities

Meals on Wheels of Contra Costa’s golf tournament isn’t just open to individuals! Any and all local businesses are encouraged to sponsor as well! 

A golf tournament can be a wonderful way to congratulate employees on their great work or invite other business partners or vendors for a good time. It can also be a great way to hold a work meeting while also getting some exercise! No matter who plays, the business gains a day for fun and helps support a great cause.

Meals on Wheels Golf Event

Venue Details

Our event will be held at Shadow Lakes, a beautiful golf course with 18 holes, one of the premier community meccas for the Brentwood area. It offers many features to pros and amateurs alike, including an immaculately groomed course, new golf carts, and expert staff. 

Shadow Lakes also has an event center surrounded by lovely neighborhoods where many weddings and other events happen. It’s also frequently used for holiday parties and other events, so the area is well-known by locals. It’s a highly recognizable venue that stands as a symbol to the community!

Our golf tournament on June 7th promises to be a great day!

Our tournament starts at 7:30 AM when teams are getting registered and set up with their equipment. 

Our shotgun will start promptly at 9:00 AM; each foursome will play a full 18-hole round! Our format is a four person scramble; for those not used to golf terms, that means each player’s score will contribute to the overall team score. 

There will be five contest holes, with lunch on the turn and plenty of grab-n-go snacks. A big highlight of our event is the raffle and tee prizes! There will be both individual and team prizes. 

Once all teams have played their round, the end of the day will be our Awards Dinner, where prizes will be distributed, we will have a special dealership guest, and more donation opportunities will be discussed.
